A CHAT W/ CLIFFORD

A CHAT W/ CLIFFORD

Q - Introduce yourself and where you're from

A - My name is Clifford, I'm 23, and I'm from Sydney, Australia.

Q - Tell us about your track on Wired Vol. 2 (Influences, Sound, Goal, etc.)

A - I was going through a massive Warp phase at the time. All things Warpy fascinated me, so I figured I'd give it a try. I made "Chops With Love From The West" to test myself. And it's FINALLY COMING OUT!

Q - Where do you see yourself in the future as an artist? What are your goals for the next few years?

A - I would love to tour the UK, even just one or two shows. I want to meet all the people I’ve connected with through music who have inspired me to push harder with my craft. I’d also love to see Sydney’s garage scene explode. It’s amazing to see the growth of the scene in just the few months since I moved back to Sydney.

Q - How has the UK sound influenced your sound, the sound of your scene, and your approach to music production?

A - The UK soundscape is a completely different beast. It’s been really cool to pick and choose bits that resonate with me and incorporate that into my production. The insane talent coming out of Australia right now has a lot of UK talent to thank for that. It’s incredible to see how far this scene has come in such a short span, and it’s amazing to be surrounded by so many great people who share the same love.

Q - How do you hope being part of Wired and Transistor will help you grow or reach new audiences?

A - More than anything, Wired and Transistor have opened my eyes to all-new sounds. I’m incredibly grateful to share such a great platform with some incredibly talented producers who all bring their own flavours. I hope this opportunity gives me a chance to show the UK and the world what I’ve been up to.

Q - What is your favorite track from another artist on Wired Vol. 2, and why?

A - Ziggy Ostas - *"Here We Go!"
This one is just tickling the back of my smooth brain.
